Paris - Convenient location to stay
 

Hello Friends.., Need some help please...My Wife and I are visiting Paris for three days before we proceed to Belgium. Can I please get suggestions which is a good location to stay which is easily accessible to famous sights, hopin hop off, restaurants, closer to the train station etc...
More importantly safe...

Out of three days, we plan to visit Loire Valley for a day...

Most first-time visitors to Paris seem to like to stay near the Seine in arrondissements 4, 5, and 6. There is a bit of a concentration of major sites accessible from those areas, but since Paris wasn't built in a day, the main sites are actually scattered all over the city, which is fine because Paris has a fabulous transport network and you can get around easily and quickly.

I would NOT do a hop-on hop-off bus in Paris. It's slow and your feet or the RATP will get you places faster and allow you to see more.

There are something like 40,000 eating establishments in Paris, so you'll have to be more specific to get any useful information on that.

There are five train stations in Paris, so again we'd need to know more.

I would not take a full day out of such a short trip to Paris to visit the Loire.

Safe ? Not again...

What do you call safe ?
A place where no riots will happen that kills 36 if a rapist is sent to jail ?
A place where no hurricane will struck (my thoughts to Texas)
A place where no terrorist will strike ?
Where you will not be hit by a car ?
or just robbed ?

I have never felt unsafe anywhere in or around Paris. But not sure it can apply to you.

If you want hop-on-hop-off in Paris, use the Batobus. It stops at the major tourist sites, and lets you see Paris from the Seine. It's inexpensive.

Last time we visited, we stayed in the Latin Quarter, which we liked a lot. It's lively, with plenty of restaurants and bars.

Have consolidated all tips for the first time Paris visitor in the link below including where to stay and what to do. Paris is overall quite safe so I dont think that should be a problem - ofcourse there is some pickpocketing in trains and public places which you will have to be careful about!
