Paris concerts

There are supposed to be concerts in St.Germain de Pres and Sainte Chapelle and l'Eglise de la Madeleine and possible in other churches (Notre Dame?) Does anyone know how to find out about them if they are free or not. (dates etc.) ....
Thanks

I absolutely do! This was one of my biggest searches for my last trip and I saved the site after taking weeks to finally find it! It is www.ampconcerts.com. Glad to be able to pass on the info.

BTW, we went to a concert at the Eglise de la Madeleine and saw Vivaldi's "Les Quatre Saisons". Cost was 23E pp and it was wonderful. Also, you do not really need the reservations since you can just walk up and purchase the evening of the concert. There is plenty of seating available but if you want to sit close I would get there about a half hour prior to the start time.

Dejais,

Thank you for this reference. We really want to do this in October, but particularly wanted to see a concert in St. Chapelle. I see, however, that none are scheduled for October. Any idea why, or are there other musical events, not concerts, scheduled there for that month?

Thanks,

can't answer your last query but I can
offer the cost at 25E. If you get to
St. Chappelle 1/2 ahead of the performance you may purchase your ticket then.

Try this website as well.
http://www.classictic.com/venues/27

the above link is to Ste Chapelle events, but they also give events for all over Europe (all classical, I believe) There seem to be two programs available in October:
Les Archets de Paris
Les Solistes Francais

I just found another site that does list musical events for St. Chapelle in October.

Thank you, Djkbooks. That brings up a more complete listing than the one I cited. I was afraid that concerts would just stop after the summer tourist season. I guess Parisians must like music, too.

Mike, I'm going to leave you on your own on that one! I found the classictic site in about 3 minutes doing a couple of searches online. Go for "concert Paris free" and see what you find!

Note also that when you get to Paris you'll see handbills posted all over the place for concerts.

Another good resource is the weekly Pariscope available at nearly any news kiosk.
