Paris - Complément de Parcours
Within the next few days we want to take a daytrip from Paris out to Rambouillet and Maintenon. We have Navigo passes that will get us to Rambouillet round trip. They are currently valid for this week. Is this a situation where we should use the Complément de Parcours? How does that work?
I'd greatly appreciate any help with this. |
That's in zone 5, I thought Navigo passes were now "dezoned" since Sept 1st and you can use them for any zone, at least if you buy that type (there are still some available only for a couple zones in the outer areas). If you are in Paris itself, you must have bought that type, didn't you?
Haven't been there since 9/1, just what I read here http://www.ratp.fr/fr/ratp/c_21137/f...is-et-semaine/ |
Did you recently purchase the weekly, or monthly, fare for a Navigo Découverte? If you did, you should have zone 1-5 capability. A recent change, as of this month, in the Navigo fare structure effectively made the Complément de Parcours obsolete.
You should be able to travel through zone 5 with the fare you now have. |
But Maintenon is beyond zone 5.

If it is beyond zone 5, your Navigo itself, as well as any advantage from a Complément de Parcours, will be of no use. You will need to purchase tickets from the SNCF:

Thanks for the information.

oh, I just knew Rambouillet is in zone 5. but yeah, Maintenon is outside it, and the Navigo won't be of any use. YOu can't use a Parcours to go to Chartres, either, for example, or Vernon, as they are outside zone 5.

Now we've decided to give up Rambouillet and Maintenon and go instead to Provins which is in zone 5 and has been on my to-do list for awhile.
