"Paris Combo" gives you your Paris Fix

This is an addendum to the other post about how to get your Paris Fix. I just discovered this group, although they have been around for awhile. I saw Paris Combo in concert at the Somerville Theater in Somerville, MA.
They were absolutely fantastic in person. I had one of their CD's "Living Room" and loved it, but their are very talented. Very French, very musical. A wonderful way to get your Paris fix.

Eeek, I just posted on that Paris Fix thread about Paris Combo. They were in Somerville? Oh no, when did I miss this? Tell me it was a long time ago please.

I didn't see your post on the other post, but I'm sorry to tell you that they were there this past friday, Jan. 7th. Also sorry to say, we sat in the first row and have to say it was probably among the best concert I have attended.

Yeah, I just did a search and found it. Three concerts in New York and one in Boston last week. How did I miss this? Glad you had a good time though.

sorry I had to miss it but glad I was well at the time of Jane Birkin's concert at Berklee.

Thanks for the mention of Paris Combo! I had not heard of them, but I'm listening to sound clips on cdnow.com and have added them to my wish list :-)

I won't be in the area on the 29th for the GTG. Happily though I will be in Paris in February for 4 nights, but I can get my fix.

If you want to know what the Paris Combo are singing, you can go to this website for the lyrics in English.

Also, emailed trying to find tour dates for the US. Does anyone have that info?

Thanks!

I saw Paris Combo a year and a half ago when they played at a Bastille Day street festival in Milwaukee. Very interesting mix of jazz, pop, world music.

I have another of their CD's _"Attraction" that is very good.

Paris Combo are great, we saw them a few times, once at the Montreal Jazz Fest where they did a free outdoor show. Other groups with a somewhat similar sound are '8 1/2 Souvenirs' and Pink Martini. The Putamayo cd 'French Cafe' is very much in this same groove. Its a collection of various French artists including Paris Combo, Brigitte Bardot, etc. I highly recommend it!

Beachgirl247: Paris Combo has a website; ParisCombo.com
The last US date on their tour is today in Los Angeles and San Franciso, then they go to Canada and back to France.
My 13 month old granddaughter loves their Living Room CD. Great music to dance to.
