Not related that I know of. My guess is your kids will get bored on the flight and sleep; the seats are much larger for them than for us, and it is easy for them to sleep. Its true that Les Halles is a large station, multi-level, and I think almost all metros and RERs meet there. You will probably have to ask directions to get to the surface, but my experience is that if you ask almost anyone if they speak English, they will say "a little" and then answer your questions. I think the French view your initial inquiry as to their fluency, which you should attempt in French, as a necessary politeness.

When we transited Les Halles on our way home, there was an elevator right next to the ticket booth.

I prefer taking the RER and metro because I think it gives you more of a flavor of French life, and I had enough time to not be worried about getting lost. Before I mastered the maps in the metro, we took a number of trains in the wrong direction, but you can just get off and get on another at the next station.

I wonder about all these posters who seem to feel their children are so delicate they can't even carry a small bag.

Hi Gretchen,

Am I correct? A taxi for 4 with luggage will be about 50E and we don't have to arrange in advance?

Clevelandbrown, if you aren't my husband, are you sure you aren't one of my in-laws?

Seriously, I am more concerned about getting directly to our apartment without getting lost than our dear children having to deal with their bags. For some reason, my husband expects me to be instantly oriented whereever we go. We go to a strange city, pick up the rental car, and he wants to drive away without a pause, expecting me to automatically know which way to turn out of the parking lot! With little or no sleep, tempers could cetainly flare if I turn the wrong way out of the train station and we walk a few blocks in the wrong direction.

Ira, that is our experience. Yes. It does depend somewhat on traffic but that was the top.

Just collect your bags, head for the sidewalk, and find the taxi queue.

The taxi drivers are all quite adept and efficient at matching vehicles (there are minivans for a party of five with bags) to groups of people clustered in the queue with their bags. And, the fare will be less than any shuttle service.
