Paris CDG

I have a connection and need to check bags from an American Airlines flight in 2A to an Air France flight in 2F. Is there an Air France check in in 2A or do I have to lug my bags to 2F?

I thought they did that when you have a connection?

Usually, if you have a connection, they will forward the bags for you.

Unless you purchased 2 separate tickets that are in no way tied together,...then you might have to check your bags.

I went from SFO to another US state, and then onto Paris...bags went straight thru! Only on the return did I have to get my bag so i could go thru customs when entering the first US state before arriving in SFO.

Simple answer to a simple question, call American Airlines and ask them. Have a nice trip!! Mike

I dont believe Air France and American interline luggage as they are not part of the same airline alliances. Wouldnt hurt to ask. At CDG you can only check in luggage in your departure terminal.

Almost all major airlines have interline baggage agreement, alliance partner or not.

if it is on the same ticket, the luggage should be checked through. if you bought 2 separate tickets, you're on your own.

Again, as long as the two airlines involve have interline baggage agreement, they can transfer your bags, even if you are on seperate tickets. You just have to get the check-in agent at your original departure airport to do it for you. They may be hesistant, and it may take them to make some calls, but it can be done.
