Paris - CDC card and antigen test working for you?
 

I haven't seen comments on the Passe Sanitaire lately so wondered if people are able to get into museums and restaurants with your CDC card and a recent antigen test? We applied for the Health pass but have heard nothing back, so I assume they are still not processing most of the applications. We are hoping it is not too difficult the get the antigen test at a pharmacy. We would love to hear if the combination of recent test and CDC card is generally accepted. Thanks!

I leave in 2 weeks for Paris.
I applied for the health pass and the response indicated it might take 25 days, which cuts it pretty close for me.
I am following CDC guidelines (taking a test before I go, test again 3-5 days upon return), so will have my vaccination card, passport and the test which will be good for 72 hours and cover me for the first 2 days I am there.
If I still have not gotten my pass, since any pharmacy does the tests, I will just keep getting tested.
I just read another post where you can go to a pharmacy or two or three with your vac card and passport and they will issue you a pass that will gain you access to museums, etc.
The health pass mandate is up until Nov 15 and hopefully will not be renewed.
I will not come back until the end of Nov, so can post more definitively then.

FYI... I applied for the health pass on 10/13 and received the approval message today (10/16) with an attached PDF file with the QR code. So, this worked very smoothly for me.

The French pharmacies stopped giving out a Pass Sanitaire with a CDC card and passport at the end of August. You can get a three day pass with a negative antigen test. There are testing sites everywhere in Paris.

Thanks for the info! When. are you flying to France? I'm wondering if they are prioritizing based on your arrival date.

theresarad - I'm not flying until December 7th. Note that they sent three messages: confirming receipt of my form, notification that they're reviewing it and then that it was approved w/the PDF of QR code. Also, all three messages were in my Junk folder, so you may want to check there!

We leave for France I. 2.5 weeks, submitted our Pass Sanitaire 19 September and still have had no response. When I check the website it shows In Progress but has gone no further so I beginning to wonder if I should start new ones?

vickybypass, very interesting and fortunate that you received your pass especially in such a short time. I’m wondering if maybe I did not complete them correctly (for my husband and myself). I also checked my spam/junk folder like you mentioned but no dice.

I think I will fill out the form again on Monday, using an alternate email address and see what happens. We arrive on Oct 30 , so maybe a new application will fall in the parameters they are using to process applications Otherwise, we'll just get a test as soon as we get into the city.

SInce I got my "accepted" health pass so quickly, I thought I'd share what I did in case it helps someone: in "Address of residence abroad:", I entered the address of the apartment I'm renting; "Country of residence abroad", I entered France; the documents I attached were a combination of PDF, JPEG and JPG files; and I did NOT enter any info in "Notes/Comments". I take the approach of keeping it simple (although truthful), since my experience with large companies/bureaucracies is that anything that isn't the norm (as in, Notes or missing info) causes delays in processing often requires manual handling which can delay the end result.

Interesting. My husband and I both got our passes, but we put our local US address! From all the various posts I have read about getting the QR code, it doesnt seem to matter which you put. Trip Advisor has a good thread on getting the pass. Good luck to all those trying to get theirs.

Us too, yestravel, regarding the address. I got mine, my husband didn’t. From what I can tell, there’s not much rhyme or reason to how they get processed. We were only there 5 days a few weeks ago, but my husband used his CDC card - no antigen tests - for everything, no issues. He got into places quicker than I did, because they looked at his card while my pass sanitaire needed to be scanned. Not terribly longer, but if the scanner was acting up…..

What is "everything"??? Name a few please. Hotel de la Marine?, Carnvalet? Michelin 1 star restaurants? simple cafes?, buses?, grocery stores?, TGV?, We're arriving Dec for 2 weeks in Paris.

If pharmacies stopped giving the Pass Sanitaire in August, that's news to us because we had no trouble at all getting a Pass Sanitaire at a pharmacy in Brittany in September.

We've spent 13 weeks vacationing in Brittany. We mostly stay in Gites while in France (72 gites so far - 114 weeks). Bretons love Americans. In 2001, we were with my 81 YO father in law. When the proprietors of the gite and another guest discovered that he was part of the Normandy invasion - they treated him like a King. The guest gave us all the fish he caught in the nearby lake, and the wife of the proprietor gave my FIL a kind "thank you, thank you, thank you" during one of the cocktail hours we had with them. The proprietor said the first time he tasted chocolate, it was given to him by a US GI who had just liberated his small village.

No wonder the Bretons would reach out to help visiting Americans.

This thread works perfectly. It took me directly to Pharmacie Simon in Corlay, Brittany where were got our Pass Sanitaire. Just look up the place you'll visit and find a Pharmacie and you'll be fine.

We got a 72-hour pass with an antigen test when we landed and when that ran out, visited the pharmacy and got the full Pass Sanitaire. Both are scanned into the TousAntiCovid app only the temporary one is automatically archived after 72 hours. Otherwise they both are a QR code on your phone that gets you into everything. BTW, we were only charged 12 euros total for two PS. The antigen test in a tourist area cost 50 euros total. They seem to be able to set their price within certain boundaries. I think the antigen test is capped at 25 euros.
