Paris; Can you recommend a hotel in the 17eme?

I have the Gavarni bookmarked, but are there any others you knowledgable folks recommend?

Just to make sure, Hotel Gavarni is down in the 16th at metro: Passy, not near the 17th, really. So are you wanting an alternative in the 17th or the 16th..?

My SO's neice lives outside of and north of the City and we thought it would be convenient to be on the "northwest" side of town...
You are the best for hotel suggestions...<GRIN> I'd was hoping you'd be on today!
Would it really matter?

Hi SC,

> Would it really matter?<

No.

Paris has an excellent transportation system.

I would choose the hotel that suited me and then work out the travel route.

Hi Ira! This will be our honeymoon trip as well, so I want a wee bit of "posh" for us two old love birds!
And the Paris stint will be the last two days of our France visit.
He wants to rent a place in St. Tropez ... I'm finding that difficult to find in our budget for the second week in October... seems he used to rent the same house in St. Maxime from a Doctor every June. That was a while ago...<GRIN> and the Doctor is 'no more'...but he loves St. Tropez. So?
What's a girl to do?

There's a lovely mansion in the 16th that was built by one of the Napoleons for his doctor: the Regent's Garden.
The now-hotel is beautifully decorated; ask for a room on the first floor. There's a nice living room and a pretty little garden out back. On the same street is a mini-market, and there are a number of good restaurants nearby.
