You can download one from the RATP website:

http://www.ratp.info/orienter/bus.php

Otherwise, I'd try asking in a larger metro station. I'm not sure if the shops that sell tickets also have information leaflets and maps.

Some of the large foldout maps given away by virtually every hotel have a bus map, but there are so many lines it can be hard to read. The online map is easier to read, and you can download and print out a copy that is a bit easier to read.

For an all-in-one map book for Paris, this is the one:
http://easygoing.com/index.asp?PageA...mp;ProdID=6607

It shows the bus routes overlaid on the street map, and includes the location of the stops (and still shows the metro stops also). The other 2 maps show just the streets, and then the metro overlaid onto the street map. Also includes a street index.

You can buy one in Paris at bookstores or the news stands.

RATP also has a 'Grand Plan' folding map that shows the bus routes overlaid onto the streets, and on the other side the metro routes overlaid on the streets. Not as detailed as above book-map, though. It is called "Grand Plan 2 - lignes et rues"

The free map that the RATP gives out has maps for the metro, the buses and the RER.

I always download from RATP the bus line maps for lines near the hotel or apt. where I'm staying. I also have a bus map booklet that I bought in a Paris bookstay, but don't usually want to carry that around with me, which is why printing the bus line maps from RATP works for me - I cut them up and then re-Xerox so there are three to a page, and then copy that two sided, so I only need to carry around a couple pieces of paper.

The one that RATP gives out in stations if you ask for it specifically (the Grand Plan 2) is good for a big overview of the city and the routes, and general lines, but it does not actually list the name of all the streets on the map, so you can't tell exactly where a bus stop is. It does give the name of the street it runs along, but not the streets (or even stop names) of where it stops on that major route.
