Paris budget restaurants in the 6th and 14 arrondissements?

Greetings,

We will be staying in the 14th this trip and are looking for some good choices for budget restaurants in the area. We will be close to intersection of Montparnasse and Raspail but enjoy an evening walk. Can you suggest some of your faves in the 6th and 14th that might be in the budget range? Many thanks.

Last week I had a good meal at Le Petit St. Benoit, on street of same name in the 6th. It's an old bistro with paper tablecloths and typical bistro fare. This is the second time I have been there and enjoyed it both times. No reservations; be there at 7 if you don't want to wait on a weekend night. Last week we were there on Wed., and it was not as crowded.

Many thanks for that--looked it up online and it looks just perfect. Do they have a prix fixe menu or is it all à la carte?

It is a la carte, but I think, eg,my beef bourguignon was only 15 e. It came in a cast iron pot and with the potatoes, mushrooms, etc., in the dish, it would have been enough with the great baguette. We each ordered potage de legumes (3 euro) b/c we were sharing main courses with my 6 yr old granddaughter. You could have a fine meal for two for under 50 euro, depending upon the wine you choose, etc.

Have fun!

For ethnic food (Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese...) you can get a full meal for no more than 10€ per person.

Every single eating establishment must post its full menu outside, and you should ALWAYS study the menu before going in.
