Paris Budget Hotel (Around $80 A Night)?

Hi, this is my perennial question. I'll be in Paris again next week.

I called Tiquetonne, but it's booked. Right now the choices on RatesToGo are Hotel de la Vallee and Hotel Louvre Richelieu. Neither is particularly inspiring based on TA reviews.

I can try Ste-Marie again, where I stayed one time, but I'm particularly keen on this.

Any suggestions that I may have overlooked?

I can book a single if necessary but a double is probably desirable. The budget can be changed, obviously, if nothing is really available, but I don't really want to exceed $100 if I can.

I prefer 1st and 2nd Arrondissements near the Louvre.

I'm going to check booking.com later. I need to run a couple of errands today so I'll have to do the hotel research later.

Thanks!

Sorry *not* particularly keen on Ste-Marie, I meant. Thanks.

Priceline?

I don't know how you feel about apartments but my sister and I rented this one in July and loved the location, so convenient to everything and the owner was really nice to deal with.

What about Hotel les Argonautes

Hi op,

People on Priceline often report the Meridian Montparnasse at about $100 for a double.

Thanks for that apt. link, but it's not available for my dates. Plus I'm only in Paris for two nights.

I can't make any phone calls right now because I'm not at home so I'll have to call tomorrow morning. I've e-mailed Les Argonautes (though it's in the Left Bank). Neither this one nor Flor Rivoli gets particularly good reviews on TA, however, but that's probably not too surprising given the prices that are charged.

I'm not interested in a Montparnasse location.

Thanks for the recs so far!

An acquaintance of mine liked the 2* Hotel Daval near the Bastille column:
http://www.hoteldaval.com

It has singles for 80 euro, anyway, and seems to have decent Tripadvisor comments for that rate.

Here is one within your budget, although on the Left Bank, near Gobelins metro. I like that neighborhood a lot, but it is not your preference. I haven't stayed in this hotel, have heard some good comments and all I know is it is a very convenient location and looks nice from the outside:

Tripadvisor comments not bad for a 1*.

Maybe you could get into Hotel de Nesle in the 6th?
http://www.hoteldenesleparis.com/

Or Hotel de Rouen in the 1st?

(I don't think you can expect glowing reviews for budget rooms)...

What about any of the IBIS hotels?

I looked at lastminute.com. For 2 poeple, they have:

1* Comfort Inn Sacre Coeur for £114
2* Hotel Eden Montmarte for £118
2* Grand Hotel Nouveau Opera (near Bastille) for £118

All prices are TOTAL for 2 nights including VAT, so around $90/night.

Probably rates can be cheaper if you type in 1 person.

I have stayed at the Hotel Jean Bart a couple of times and it is located just west of the Luxembourg Gardens. It was 4 or 5 years ago and I paid 55 Euro a night and that included breakfast. You may have to call for reservations.

Hotel Louvre Richelieu is definitely not the Ritz, but if all you need is a place to flop at night, its location is quite excellent. Certainly not as commodious as Motel 6, but very reasonable.
