Paris, Brussels and ??

We are planning a trip for late October, early November, staying 12 possibly 14 days. We want to fly into Paris first, and stay around 7 days. It'll be my 3rd time there and my sister's first time.

After that, we were thinking of going to Brussels, but I know after 2-3 days we'll have seen most of the major stuff.

Can someone recommend a 3rd and final destination, that we can go by train (from Brussels) and fly out of, to get back to Montreal or Toronto, Canada? We're looking for something for 2-3 days also, easy to travel to by train, not too far from Brussels.

Thanks so much!!

Amsterdam?

Hi R,

Brussels is a major hub. You might want to fly out of there.

Bruges/Brugge is a lovely town just a short train ride from Brussels.

From Paris, take the train to Lille France and transfer for Bruges. It is usually cheaper than the THALYS via Brussels.

Thanks to you both! I was thinking another country, so Amsterdam may be what we are looking for. Is it far from Brussels?

PS I know Amsterdam isn't a country ;-)

I believe it's a 2 hour train trip.

AMS is a major Europen airport. I'm sure you can find non-stops to Canada from there.

It's about 2.5-3 hour train trip.

Amsterdam is cool and unique. Love the canal houses, the trams, the bicycle 'ding-y' bells, Vondelpark, Indonesian food...

I think you can also take the Eurostar to London from Brussels.

We did that in 2006 - Amsterdam - Brussels - Bruges - Paris.
Personally, one day is probably enough for Brussels, I would spend 2 days in Bruges- it's beautiful, and practically empty at night. Amsterdam has plenty to do for 2-3 days, and all are an easy train ride.

Thanks again for the suggestions!! Will look into Bruges yep!
