Paris Bisto's

Is there a specific parisian bistro i can't miss on my trip in september. Le Grand Colbert looks perfect. any other suggestions?
i'm basically looking for what Balthazar in NYC was copied from, as its my favorite spot in New York.

Any other paris restaurants? Market by Jean Georges?

We stay on rue Vivienne and much prefer Le Vaudeville over Le Grand Colbert. It is in the next block, across the street from the Bourse.

Well, there's a Balthazar in Paris too.

Looks like you're interested in a brasserie rather than a bistro.

Bofinger and Le Vaudeville, in no particular order.

I enjoy La Coupole. The food is fairly good but I really go for the incredible decor and the atmosphere. Its the largest brasserie in paris.

Flo has excellent food and looks vaguely like Balthazar in New York. The do great plateaux de fruits de mer (seafood towers) and fois gras. In the 10th; Metro Chateau-d'Eau

Chez Rene - 14 rue St Germain
Chez Henri au Moulin a Vent - 20 Fosse St Bernard
Rotisserie du Beaujolais - 19 Quai du Tournelle (above Seine)

All in 5th, near Ile St Louis.
Classic french cooking, small restos, try chicken at RdB.
All came out of Michelin Red book

We second your NYC favorite. Balzar is our Paris pick, and I know all about the mgnt. change & have been served somewhat warmed over roast chicken as well. Balzar is an upbeat spot and we tend to smile a lot when we are there. We have been coming here for more years than you are interested in; I swear the wait staff is the same competent crew. The house red is excellent, the frites to die for and the steak tartar superb.
