Paris-Berne TGV rail - cheapest method??
 

(1) I can't believe the cost of the TGV at about 168 CHF per adult one-way by first-class! Is there a cheaper way to get these tickets?
(2) Is first class worth it?
(Europe first timer...)

Second class is good enough.

You might look for a PREMs fare from Paris to Lyon, then purchase a separate ticket for the leg to Berne.

It's not a toll-free line, but a call won't take very long and can be a good money-saver.
