Paris-Bercy Train Station
I am coming into Paris on the night train from Rome. Any suggestions on getting to our hotel (group of 4) in the city?
Also, any good recommendations for transfers to CDG Airport? Thanks. |
The easiest thing to due is take a taxi parisien. The cheapest alternative is some sort of public transportation. Where is your hotel? If arriving very late, what time?
|
On the Ile-St. Louis. The train arrives on a Sunday morning (9ish). I was concerned about getting a taxi once we were there if it was going to be very expensive.

If it's a group of four on a Sunday morning when there's relatively little traffic it's probably going to be less than the cost of a shuttle, and a lot more convenient than taking the RER/métro. With luck it will cost you about 30-40 euros. There's a small extra charge for each piece of luggage, and you should tip - usually about 10%.
|
If you were planning to acquire a Mobilis pass for the day's transportation (or Ticket Jeunes for those under 26), the ride to your hotel is virtually free via bus or Métro. This is a Good Thing if you have any budget constraints.
You have to move your luggage around a little. |
Bercy to Ile Saint-Louis is a short ride, without luggage it should cost you no more than 6-7 euros, put in 1 euro extra orso per piece of luggage. The 4 of you won't fit into a normal sedan taxi, go up the line to find a minivan (known in France as "monospace", such as a Renault Espace or a Citroën Picasso), that can accommodate the 4 of you. The monospace will also be the best solution to go to CDG (to be arranged on the eve of take off with your hotel).
|
There will also be a charge of 2.60€ for the fourth passenger.
