Paris-Bercy to CDG: How long does it take?
 

We're considering buying airline tickets that has our group leaving CDG to fly back to the states at 1:40PM. The (possible) problem is, we'll be coming from the Paris-Bercy station where we will arrive on a night train from Rome at 10:15AM. My question is this: Will we have enough time to get from the station to the airport for the 1:40 flight? <BR><BR>Thanks in advance for your answers.<BR><BR>Jennie

yes, should be fine. I would guess you could get there around 11-11:30 am. YOu can either take a taxi (not bad if you have 2-3 people), or the Air France shuttle bus which leaves from Gare de Lyon, bd Diderot. That would be quite convenient and it's not far from Bercy. If you want to take the metro/train, you have to transfer around a lot.

I tried the route-finder at www.rapt.fr and got a reply of 55 minutes and one change of train.<BR><BR>It was a little fustrating: it would NOT accept &quot;airport&quot; or &quot;CDG&quot; as a destination, but finally accepted Charles de Gaulle (this was on their English version)

It would seem to be possible but I would most certainly take a taxi to CDG. Arriving at 10:15AM gets you to the taxi stand at 10:30 maybe and allow 45-60 minutes to get to CDG. That is right at 2 hours before flight time--no one in your group will have time to tarry anywhere along the line. Be sure you know which terminal for the taxi driver.

Since you say you are &quot;considering&quot; buying airline tickets that force you into that schedule, my advice to you is: &quot;Don't&quot;. You are courting disaster to play things that tightly and since you still have a choice, I would suggest making a better one that includes some margin.

Elberko, you might be interested to know that most French people actually refer to CDG as Roissy.

hanl, I tried &quot;roissy&quot; after reading your post. I was given a choice of 3 possibilities, none of which said anything about airport. I had also tried &quot;roissy CDG&quot; before, with no luck.
