Paris Bercy - Help please
 

Please help me! Where is this train station? We have to leave from here for Auxerre, and I cannot find a "Gare" like this on the map of Paris? Only find Bercy around Gare de Lyon. We'll be staying in Hotel Monge in the 5 th.

Help from all you experienced Paris travellers will be appreciated!

It is in the 12th. At the Bercy Metro stop. From the Gare de Lyon, south east on the Rue de Bercy toward the Parc de Bercy.

If you have the big Michelin map you will find it where the above posts say it is. It is southeast of Gare de Lyon along the Seine on the right bank.
It is a fairly small station, and I think it is being used because Gare de Lyon is overwhelmed with trains and cannot easily expand.

You can easily reach the Bercy station by Metro line #14..get off at the Bercy station (NOT Gare de Bercy..just Bercy)...the mainline (SNCF) station is just around the corner. Walk straight ahead when you come up the steps from the Bercy Metro station, past some restaurants on the right and you'll see the railroad staion when you come around the corner.
If you don't have much luggage you can also walk from the Gare de Lyon by doing a 180 degree turn to the left from the G.d. Lyon forecourt into the street running along side the station and along the RR tracks.
To use a Paris Metro map (on line) go to www.ratp.fr and select "plans."

Thanks again for all the help! Will take the Metro - line 14 - saw there is a Metro Stop (Line 14) close to Hotel Monge where we shall be staying.

and enter your starting address and "Gare Bercy, Paris" as a 'station' you will get directions and a map of the arrival area.

Things to Know About Bercy: I wish someone had posted this to save me a nightmare we ran into regarding Bercy.

Bercy is a tiny station in Paris that mainly services overnight trains to Italy. It has no baggage check, no restaurant, and the elevator wasn't working when we were there about a month ago. There is oftn a long line at the taxi stand.

If you need to check bags, Gare du Lyon, a large main Paris train station is only a 10 minute walk away or 2 minutes by taxi. Gare du Lyon has a baggage check, restaurants, etc. It also is so spread out that you need to give yourself time to navigate it. And the taxi line is usually long.

The nightmare we had is that we went all the way to Bercy, only to find we couldn't check our bags there, as we had many hours until we left for Italy. So, we trudged mostly uphill to Gare du Lyon with 11 bags!!

Then, we left to go see some of Paris for the next 6 hours. When we were going back to Lyon to get our bags and then, Bercy, we hadn't counted on Parisian rush hour, which is awful. It took 30 minutes to take the taxi back instead of the expected 10 minutes. Many minutes to get through Gare du Lyon to baggage check and then, many more minutes to get a taxi to Bercy.

We missed our overnight train to Italy, which cost us many ours and many dollars.

I hope this post can help someone prevent this situation in the future. Taxis charge per bag, so be aware of that, too.

Finally, if you have a first class ticket from Bercy (common with Eurail), they have an awesome first class lounge on the 2nd floor with free water, a beautiful view of the city, air conditioning, a television (good for kids) and very comfortable seating. Attendants will let you know when your train has arrived. This lounge is the best thing about Bercy, but lugging 11 bags up because the elevator wasn't working wasn't so fun.

Another lesson: travel as lightly as you can.
