Paris-Belgium-Luxembourg
We are flying in and out of Paris and have 11 nights. We are thinking of ending up in Paris for the last three nights so that leaves open 8 nights. We are planning on picking up a car and driving around Belgium and Luxembourg. We are have seen Atwerp before so that is not on our list.
We would like to make a base and maybe stay two nights at each place. We arrive early Friday morning in Paris. What do you all think of driving to Brugges--spend 2 nights there--then 2 nights in Brussels--2 nights in Brussells and 2 in Luxembourg and back to Paris of the last three days. There seem to be so many charming cities in Belgium it is hard to choose a base--Namur also looks quaint. We like to stay at small hotels--we've stayed at the Pand in Brugee years ago and thought that might be fun. We have always loved the Relais & Chateaux group--but cant decide. Any suggestions would be most helpful. Thanks. Jan |
Both the French and Belgian Ardennes have some magnificent scenic (and historical) hotels. Spa might be a good place to spend some time.

Just got back from two weeks in the netherlands; while there we spent two nights i Brugges and loved it. I wanted to go to Luxembourg but we just did not have the time. Enjoy!

I am making my reservations for Brugges today, which I am really excited about. Will also be visiting Luxembourg.

The English/French spelling is Bruges;
the Dutch spelling is Brugge. If you are writing in English, I recommend the English spelling of the city or you are heading into dangerous territory. |
Ah, Did not mean to stir up hostilities--just a poor speller. Thanks for the advice--and awareness warning:)Any suggestions about which town the best as a center point for travel??
