Paris Beauvais to Paris
Getting into Beauvais airport at 9:25 pm on Ryanair. Plan to take the shuttle to Porte Maillot. If shuttle gets us there at 11:00 pm, will we be able to find a taxi to get to our hotel? Is there a better way from the Beauvais airport directly to our left bank hotel?

Getting a cab from the Ryanair shuttle at Porte Maillot shouldn't be a problem, but here's a direct shuttle for your reference:

We did this last September and used the Metro since it runs til midnight. There is a Metro stop (Porte Maillot) across the street, adjacent to the shuttle drop off area. We took the Metro to the Clemenceau stop then switched lines to Varenne since we were staying near the Musee Rodin in the 7eme. We made it to our hotel before the Metro closed. I think you could also find a cab if needed. We were a large group of moms and high schoolers and we managed just fine, so you should do great as well!
If you know your hotel's nearest Metro stop I can tell you which line to switch to from Porte Maillot. I have the map right here. There's also a map online, but it's hard to read for me as I can't get it to enlarge. Here's the website, maybe it will work for you. http://www.paris.org/Metro/ |
The Mother of all Métro Maps is at
http://www.ratp.info/orienter/tous_plans_pdf.php Click Métro (avec rues). You can also get a customized itinerary by going to http://www.ratp.info/informer/anglais and filling in the blanks, using Porte Maillot (Station) and the address (Address) of your hotel. Be sure you put 23:00 as the time, or it might compute a bus that doesn't run at night. |
Robespierre:
Is that the best shuttle service to use to get from Paris to Beauvais? We have a Ryan Air flight that leaves quite early (9:00 am departure to Rome) and there are four of us. I'm very concerned about getting there on time with no hassles. Thanks for your thoughts. |
I took the Ryanair shuttle bus to Porte Maillot in 2003. There's a large hotel across from the parking lot where the bus drops you off, and I went there to get a taxi. However, when I arrived, there was a large sign saying that taxis were for hotel guests only and hotel employees seemed to be monitoring the line. I walked a bit away and was able to hail a cab--not an easy thing to do in Paris. There may be another taxi stand nearby, but I didn't see any signs of one.

Robespierre,
Thanks for the shuttle info. Has anyone used this shuttle service from Beauvais to Paris? Costs 42 euro per person for late night service. Just wonder if this shuttle is reliable. So, it's between using this door to door shuttle or doing the bus and then cab. I don't think we will use Metro. |

I apologize if I created the impression that I was an expert on Beauvais transfers. I only know the cab and RATP part of the problem.
