Kerouak, does your camera have a fat filter? I looked again at all the pictures, and saw only two overweight people. Either you deliberately are not shooting hefty fashions, or what they say about Yanks being overweight is really true.
No way could I shoot that many random photos in our local mall and not catch an embarrassing number of obese folks; at least in the background.

I am a boot afficionado and would not normally wear UGGS around as they are not particularly flattering, but let me tell you, when it snows here or is really cold and I have to go tromping around the city, my pink UGGS are THE most warm and comfortable things I own and I don't hesitate to wear them. They also have great tread, and I'm really not looking to slip on ice or slippery leaves and break something.

All of your photos just show that you can wear whatever you want---no one cares. Be comfortable and enjoy Paris!
BTW, kerouac, your photo-essays are always so interesting to view. Paris in the winter has never interested us, but maybe. I'd love to see the snow in Luxemborg Gardens. Do you actually get snow? We live in Wisconsin, USA. We get a lot of snow! Somehow snow on a highway in the middle of nowhere doesn't give the same effect as snow along the Seine or in the gardens.

Kerouac, I paid you a compliment on this thread 2 days ago but my post seems to have been deleted for whatever reason.
I compared your work to that of another current, popular NY photographer who also photographs and posts street fashions from major NA and European cities every day. Nice work.

Thanks. I just wish that more people would realize how interesting it is to photograph ordinary life instead of what they think is "exceptional." How many pictures of the Eiffel Tower or Notre Dame can you look at, after all?

I agree.
I've recently returned from 3.5 weeks in various European cities and I too found myself capturing images of ordinary people on the street (as well as pics of some of the fascinating sites I was visiting - new D SLR).
I noted to myself while there, how everyone seemed to be so in love during the Fall (one usually associates this with Spring) and now I seem to have a neat collection (about 8 good shots) of people in different forms of embrace. Young, old, walking hand-in-hand, or with their arms around each other, or leaning on the Charles bridge at dusk while locked in a kiss; children playfully hugging each other - and not all of them are the focus or centre of the picture either.
It makes for an interesting collection, and only happened because I was moved by the moment and by what I was seeing.

TPAYT, I was in Paris when it snowed one February. People got really excited. Policemen were scooping up snowballs from the cars and throwing them at each other. It doesn't stick around very long.

Yes, we get very little snow in the city. We get jealous of the suburbs when they talk about a winter wonderland and we just have wet sidewalks. If we get any snow this winter, I will try to capture it.
