Paris apt via VParis7?

I believe I found this website via the Fodor's Board, but the search funciton is not working for me (again?) Anyway, has anyone used this site. The apartments look very nice and the location and price are excellent right now.

Thanks for your help!

Yes we rented two apartments from Virginia. The location and price were right however, since we Federal Expressed the keys 9/25/01 she has repeatedly ignored any e-mails or phone calls we've made to her inquiring about the status of the $950.00 deposit that is due us. Her website states and she also told me in a phone conversation prior to our going to Paris that the deposit would be refunded 8-10 weeks after we returned the key. The fact that she will not communicate with us at all would make me advise you strongly against renting from her. We are taking legal action to recoup the money.

I can't recall anyone having experience, although I think it was mentioned here. That is too bad about Joan's experience, I would really be upset, but I would suggest you never rent from an agency that requires a deposit that they say will be refunded 8-10 weeks later. First, I don't see the reason for that, maybe something to do with when they expect it to show up on a credit card statement? Well, that's different than actually refunding it. Also, I rented from PSR and don't recall paying much of any deposit at all, that's my second reason. I did pay a deposit for the rent ahead of time, but no security deposit worth hundreds of dollars. I wouldn't do that, either, I don't think. I think the reason is that PSR gives you an option of a slight fee to pay for utilities, linens and liability insurance, so you don't have to pay for a deposit. I liked that idea, the fee wasn't that big although there was someone on here who never rented from PSR who criticized them for that service fee and refused to rent from them because of it, whereas I liked it. There also wasn't this funny stuff about Fedexing keys, that would make me nervous -- more them than the renter, I would think. Even if that agency has refunded the deposit and it's a credit card cycle issue, not even responding to a query is inexcusable.

We had rented from PSR before but liked the idea of having two apartments across the hall from one another which she offered. She doesn't own these apartments but has long term leases on them and sub-lets them to others. The deposit included $100 for each key and the rest was in case we ran up her phone bills, used excessive utilities or did damage - which we didn't. I had spoken to her on the phone several times prior to our going there and she seemed very nice and business like but I've heard from others that she has done this before. Definitely NOT the way to do business.

That's a real shame, I was just thinking to call her about a week in Paris this summer, too bad she is not a honest person!

I just heard from Ingrid, the new assistant at vparis7.com who is taking charge while Virginia takes care of her health. She may now well be on the mend but seems like this might have been the problem. I had a wonderful experience at this site's apartment.

Just got back from a visit at the new 5th floor apartment -- lovely and a GREAT view -- and got all my deposit back within a week. They can get phone charges on line and don't have to wait for bills and the new assistant is wonderful.

The web site is well done and as of 2002 only have the one apartment. No problems for me!

If you can rent this apartment, it's great. A lovely, private perch in Paris near the Eiffel Tower and Rue Cler. Lovely decor, comfortable bed. Looking at the golden dome of Napoleon's Tomb at night was thrilling. Very reasonably priced.
