Paris-apt rental?

Hello. My husband and I along with our almost 2 yr old and a nanny [so that hubby and I can spend some much needed vacation time going to dinners, opera alone as well] are travelling to Paris for 10 days in September. We have never been to Paris and I am just in the very early stages of figuring out the different areas/sections of Paris. We need an apt that is close to the metro, preferbaly 2 bedrooms, has DSL/internet [hubby needs to got to a meeting in Paris and Brussels], an elevator [for carrrying the stroller, etc] and has air conditioning . I am looking on VRBO but was wondering if anyone has suggestions/references. I found this:
http://www.parisattitude.com/
Paris Apartment 2 Bedroom
Oberkampf
Reference # 1404
any opinions about that area/apt? We are open to any and all suggestions. thank you for your patience and expertise, Fodorites!

I suggest you check ParisPerfect.com,it is a great company with amzing apartments.

I did look at parisperfect.com but the apartments seem quite expensive to me?

the thing w/ VRBO is that every listing is totally different. All are individually owned and the rates/locations are all over the board. Some properties are absolutely fantabulous, and others are so-so. So instead of asking about VRBO it is better to give us the numbers of any apartments that interest you and we can comment about the location, amenities, etc.

parisattitude and ParisPerfect are good agencies. homelidays is similar to vrbo where you deal w/ individual owners.

There are several to sort through, the two above are great as well as VRBO. Most of these are reserved several months in advance so you might want to get busy locating one. I found one at residences-paris.com after weeks of searching and found that most of the best, in the best locations were already taken.

thank you for your thoughtful reply. any idea about:
Vacation Rentals by Owner Listing #109683 in the 6th arrondissement. thanks!

The apartment looks very nice and for a first time visitor it will be nice to have someone to direct you if need be. I don't believe that it is a 2 bedroom, the front room is one bedroom and then there is the little bedroom, it looks to me more like a very big studio with another small room. If you don't mind that there isn't very much seating in the main room it should work, nice price, great location.

I'm not as crazy about the location of the other on in the 11th, but the apartment is certainly larger and more comfortable.

I personally would not think 109683 would be a good fit for a couple + toddler + nanny. It is essentially a studio set up w/ an extra bedroom. You'd be sleeping in the living room and there wouldn't be much privacy. Just MHO - you could doo better. Plus it is a bit of a walk from everything except the Lux. Gardens.

Janisi thank you very much for your reply. you really helped me see the listing fopr what it is and helped me realize that it is not ideal. I am perusing VRBO lsitings but having trouble finding a 2BR place for around 1000-1200 Euro/wk which is our budget.

janisj Jun 26th, 2007 06:16 AM

just on vrbo here are a few in good locations that are at/under your budget

126457
110698 (but no elevator)

I have not been to Paris but I am very much hoping to go this year. In preparation for this possibility I have looked at different sites and though I have not stayed in any of these apartments there are alot of nice user comments related to this site.

tyedye33 Jun 26th, 2007 09:16 AM

ramekin4 Jun 26th, 2007 09:33 AM

tyedye33 I got it to work. the 2 bedroom apts are a tad expensive to me but I have put in an inquiry for one of them. thanks.
