I've opened the website in the OP a couple times and had no problem, there is nothing wrong with it.

It is interesting that although I am quoted several times in this thread - no one has bothered to contact me or, it seems, most have not looked at the links on my websites giving references.
The figure of 38,000 apartments was given to me last week by the chef de bureau of the department dealing with this at the Mairie in Paris. The legal action being taken only concern the landlords of property, not agencies or advertising sites. This action was announced in leaflets to many people, some large landlords and many agencies last year. I was given a pamphlet printed by the Mairie last August (a copy of this is linked on my site at http://2337.com) - the Mairie has given people concerned over a year to 'get their act in order' I am blogging about this now because it directly concerns people I know who own apartments and who are in the rental business and they are at risk of serious penalties. It is amazing to me than no one has bothered in over a year, in spite of many being aware of this matter, to simply go the the offices in Paris and meet the people concerned - ask them the questions, I can only report what I have been told. Putting their heads in the sand will not make it go away. The chronic housing shortage in Paris is one reason this action is being taken - the other is to avoid a situation like Venice and the city of London (not the West End) which are cultural deserts now when they were once, quite recently, living vital communities - many cities in the world either apply this sort of legislation or are considering it. It is not (yet) too late for Paris to keep it's unique charm - which is why people go there in the first place. Tony Tidswell |
Betty1,
What was the name of that company you mention in your first post that the business was rotting to the core, with the owners skimming the money? I too am having some difficulties with a a rental company that has the same number of apartments in central Paris. Thanks! |
Yes, and I unfortunately now have confirmation that it is law that one should not rent out their apt. short-term, am just now weighing in on this, as I have been out-of-country.
