No, but I stayed in another apartment a couple blocks away and liked the area. I looked at it, and it looks decent, so I'm sort of interested in it for future reference.

The only thing I've having trouble picturing is that it is ground floor (which I usually don't like) but it appears to face an interior courtyard, not the street. I can't picture a newer condo building in that block with apartments right on the street (although I might be forgetting-- I was just there in July).

Did you find out that detail? I wouldn't want a ground floor apartment facing the street for lots of reasons.

It's a nice street and pleasant area.

They sure seem to have missed making any mention of the bathroom -- tub or shower -- and didn't show any pictures of it at all. Most apartments attempt to show at least one picture of the bathroom? Am I being unduly concerned?

Thanks both! I have been in contact with the owner, and he sent me some more pictures, including one of the bathroom - it has a shower and looks very clean. Normally I would not be keen on a street level apartment either, but the little garden looked so inviting! I was about to book it - now I'm not so sure! I think I'll contact the owner and ask if any of the rooms face the street.

Just a thought....but the listing says "first floor". Could this perhaps be first "European" floor which would translate to second "American" floor. They count our first floor as the ground floor.

Hi: Did you end up getting the apartment? We're looking for a short term (4-5 days) in the spring. Would it be appropriate?

Thanks.

Hi there - well, we're going to book it for next summer. It seems pretty booked up for spring - there's one week available in March. The owner has assured us that the terrace is not accessible from any street, and the building is very secure, with "guardians". It is definitely ground floor. Thanks again fro comments!

YOu could tell it was ground floor from the photos of the garden terrace. Did the owner give you an address? Just curious, I know those few blocks south of the metro pretty well.

Hi Christina - the address is 75 Rue St Charles. I had a look on Pages Jaunes and it's a modern building, with what look like offices or similar on the ground floor facing the street.
