Paris apartment. Help me chose
 

We are two couples going to Paris next October for 4 nights. I was looking in the 1st and 6th District. Couldn't really find what I wanted in the 6th. I like both of these apartments, and the agency seems really nice to work with. I like the small one for the terrace, but the larger one would give us just a little more room. Any insights or comments?

I think the area that they are in would be great! Lots of good food shops and restaurants within an easy walk.

I think they look reasonable for that rate, but are suitable for 1-2 people. I like the second one as it seems to have more free space because the apt. is only slightly smaller, but is only a one BR as opposed to 2 BR. I think the second one looks more nicely decorated, also, and I like the terrace and fireplace.

I can't even imagine a 2 BR 512 SF apt. That's the size of a studio apt. where I live (1 BR at most, and not a large 1 BR). So, I think it would be okay for a couple but very cose for four adults. If you can't afford anything more, I suppose it may work as long as it's okay to have bedrooms that are barely larger than the bed, which is what these are. One of those bedrooms doesn't have any closet in it, is that okay with whoever will stay in it? Of course, if you only had the 1 BR, there isn't a second closet, either.

I think it would be fine if each one of you couples rented one of those apartments, but both look too small for four adults to me. However, if you really want to do that, I guess I'd go with the 2 BR one so you do have two separate rooms to enclose the beds. For one couple, I'd prefer the other one.

I hear what Christina is saying but it is central Paris and without paying a lot more money space will be small. But think of it this way; two 10X10 bedrooms, plus a 15X 13 living room and anout 100 sqf left for hall and bath gives you 500 ...okay it is small by the standards we Americans have (especially those with the "Versailles Syndrome"), but it Paris.....live, love, enjoy

Thanks for you input. We have decided on the one bedroom, mainly because of the small terrace where we can have a glass of wine in the evening and sit outside and enjoy the view. It will make me feel so ... Parisian. I know they are small, but we don't need a lot of space for 5 days. I just wanted a place to get off our feet for a bit. I stayed in an apartment in Paris before and we barely had enough room to walk around our bed. So for the money we can have a little more room and refrigerator for a snack. I know we have 7 floors in the apartment, but there is a small elevator and we are in good enough shape to walk. Closet space isn't too much of an issure. I'm hoping to pack light. :) It looks like in the one bedroom that the living area can be closed off at night to give a little privacy for a pseudo bedroom for the second couple.

I'm so excited about it and am glad to have made a decision and won't look back. The agency is very nice to deal with if any of you are wondering.
