Paris apartment--feedback please
 

I'll try this again. Already posted this, but it's lost somewhere. Sorry, a bit new to this site.

DH and I are planning our first trip to Paris. We've researched lots of hotels and apartments, and we've somewhat decided to go with an apartment. Would love to have feedback, both pro and con, on the following apartment. We've decided to stay in a more touristy area and venture out to lots of other places.

Other than being on the fourth floor with no elevator, it looks great and the price is reasonable. Location is OK, too - don't know the neighborhood well but believe it features lots of shops and galleries.

I love the neighborhood and love Rue Bonaparte. I think it's a great location. Enjoy!

It looks like a fabulous apt and if you are up to walking up and down all those flights of stairs every day in addition to the mileage from sightseeing, I would say go for it.
If you are there in cold weather, all the better with 2 fireplaces!
And a king sized bed...it looks find to me, good neighborhood, nice bath and kitchen.

Scarlett - Thanks so much for your feedback. We usually don't mind stairs, except for maybe the first day hauling luggage. Anyway, I'm planning on eating in a way that would require running up and down stairs every day!

I would rent that in a heartbeat if it had an elevator! (4th floor over there would be our 5th floor)10 years ago I might have been able to swing it.

Great neighborhood and a super value in my opinion. Please let us know how it works out.

I, too, would rent that in a heartbeat, and have bookmarked it for our next trip. I thought a comparison might help you. We just got back from Paris, where we stayed in a beautiful studio apartment in the 7th. Clean, lovely furnishings, nice neighborhood, great managers, but -- very small (bigger than a hotel room, for sure, but still small); trundle bed; tv mounted on a shelf near the ceiling, so our necks were plenty stiff. And it cost more than the one you're considering. So...as far as I'm concerned, vrbo11407 seems like excellent value for the money. And those stairs, if you're fit enough to take them, translate to many more macarons, crepes, pains chocolats........

Thanks for the info on #79795. Unbelievably, it's is already booked for April, 2007. I received a nice e-mail from the owner of 11407. She said she was hoping for a long term winter/spring tenent, but to check back with her in October. For some apartments this is way too early, for others like#79795, it's too late! Thanks again for your help.
