Dear friend, My family and I stayed there several years ago when the appartments Orion were opened. They are OK.
Location is a good , at walking distance from the Louvre and metro line No.1, station Chatelet, which is a good line.
Rue St. Dennis is close which means low porno night life but it didn't bother us, we just didn t go there.
Look in the map and you will see you are near everything.
The apartments belong to a chain, are modern style construction I think like l4 years old aprox. ( I go often to Paris and I do not remember exactly when did we go, usually we go to hotels, but that year we went with 3 of our 4 children. I believe that if you want service you have to pay extra. They give you linen for a week so either you buy some extra towels or wash them. It is fun to be in an appartment but of course is better to be in a hotel , but with the children is better the apartment. The kitchen has all you need, but who is going to cook in Paris? but of course you can have some cheese, wine, bread, fruit etc.
Anyway I remember a charming really old old old
boulangerie in Rue Royal and I loved to go there to get the fresh bread and croissants and make the line with all the French There was this old lady with an abaco returning the sous. By the way around the hotel look for Rue Ferroniere where the famous Henri IV was murdered while riding his coach. I found it by chance and was really delighted. But talking of more recent things the Halles were there and still some good restaurants are there today like Au Pie du Couchon, etc.
In they have mantained l'Orion it should be ok as I say I havent seen it recently I remember the price was fantastic for a family.
One thing buy the first day some clorox for the bathroom it doesn hurt to have it around.Paris is absolutely marvelous but cleaning...
Send me a e mail if you wish to know anything else. Ok?Bon voyage.
