Paris and Macon 2 weeks
 

We have three nights planned then it is up in the air...we need info on low priced but yummy food and inexpensive but safe lodging for 3 women ( 2 college age daughters and me their mom.) Triples seem a little expensive any ideas would be great. Chessie ( Steph)

So when are you going, and what price range are you hoping for?

1* How are you going to Macon? If by train, be aware that the TGV station is about seven kilometres out of town, and taxi is the only way into Macon from there: the 'normal' station is in town.
2* If you have a car, there are many cheap accommodation choices on the outskirts of the town: they are in the style of US motels. They are inexpensive and safe. They also usually have a set price per room, and the room can often accommodate three people. Ibis and Etap are part of the Accor chain, and at Macon there are also a couple of Campanile hotels.
3* Macon has the usual array of restaurants along the bank of the Saone, but we headed out of town to various villages. We ate well and cheaply in La Clayette, and Charolles, and La Croix-Blanche, and probably could have done as well at any of the other villages. Obviously, your options increase if you have a car.

Mostly concerned about Paris. Any suggestion on inexpensive but safe hotel for myself and 21 and 22 year old daughters. We have help in Macon to get from train to relative who has a car we can use while there. How does one reserve on the TGV. Help. Steph

In euros, what do you consider 'inexpensive'?

Well about 100 euros or so less if possible Two can sleep in one bed and I can sleep in one. We would like something near night clubs since they want to stay out late. Steph We are leaving July 5.
