paris age for going into pubs/bars
 

Hi, going to Paris in 2 weeks, been lots but now that our daughter is 16 dh & i are thinking we might go to a bar or two of an evening to see some live music, we like going to see bands, a friend recommended Intenational (think it's in 11th), would our 16yr old be allowed in ?We do not allow her to drink yet so no alcohol involved but obviously do not want to go out somewhere she cannot come too! Anyone any idea of the age you are allowed in pubs/bars/clubs in Paris - all the times we have been before she has been younger so this was never an idea but now she enjoys going to see bands herself so thought she would like something like this as she has been to music festivals etc with us

at 16 she will be allowed into music venues with you - and if you are having wine while dining she will be served it as well unless you stop the waiter. Our daughters were served wine from about 14 up at meals - although they were both tall girls and may have looked older. (I know some 14 year olds still look like children).

An accompanied teen will be accepted anywhere and can also be served alcohol.

I think that if she wants to go somewhere alone she must be over 18 but if she has an adult to accompany her you can go in any pubs.

don't you believe it. honestly, so long as she doesn't look 10, no-one will care.

It's better for her to start learning alcohol with her parents than with her friends.

Yes, out attitude is that the innoculation method is the best. Drinking small amounts at meals with parents gets kids used to reasonable use of alcohol - and what decent wine tastes like. IMHO they are then less likly to down a int of ye olde sweate sox the first week they get to college - if not sooner.

It worked with out kids (now 19 and 22) - they enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail but have never had problems with alcohol. (NOt saying they have never overindulged - but it was never a problem - as it has been with many of their friends - kids coming home drunk as a skunk - or actually ill - one girl ended up in the hospital her second week in college with alcohol poisoning (her parents were teetotalers).
