I'm tired of hearing this. Yes, Paris again, my 14th trip. And "Why don't you go somewhere else?"

For Paris addicts, what do you say to these people. I know I could pretend that I don't hear them. Le sigh.

I agree . Just had my 13th visit since 2001, second one this year and will return in December. One of those "why ask why" questions. And I do go somewhere else but this is my addiction and sounds like yours.

I just tell people that Paris makes me happy.

Sometimes I might mention that not many people question if a family takes a beach vacation every year to the same place or goes to NYC every year.

Once I got to 100+ trips, people were terrified to even mention it to me. I don't have to say anything. I just give them "the look."

I stopped counting after about 20 trips so I can honestly answer I really don't know how many times I've been to Paris.

Why not respond with Victor Hugo's quote from your profile. Then look at them mysteriously as though you know something they don't (and that would be true). No one would question you a second time!

RUEDEBUCI (love your trip reports)and JUDY, just wondering do you stay in the same parts of Paris, or usually change it up? Does it matter what season you go?

We don't always stay in the same location though have spent more time in the 6th. In fact, we enjoy a change of neighborhood now and then. We really like Paris Vacation Apartments and have stayed in many of those, three of them more than once.

Most of our trips are spring and fall but we also like December for the Christmas decor. We were there last July and I found it too hot and crowded. We had been in Provence right before Paris to see the lavender but have otherwise avoided mid-summer.

I just go somewhere else. There are so many great towns and cities to visit and Paris either been maybe 3 times and I will go again but I've not been to so many others it just seems crazy to keep going back

I make trip #6 in December - like Judy, I love Christmas in Paris.

Latedaytraveler yes I stay in the same area for about 9 trips now. My first trip I stayed near the opera house. Then I moved to the left bank, St Germain des Pres. Did that for several trips, then took the advice of staying someplace different, and went to the Marais. I enjoyed the Marais, but find myself more at home in SGDP. No need to look elsewhere again. I like being near the river, and close to the Louvre. I like all of the easy metro connections. I like that I can find someplace to eat and drink at 3 am. I like that the hotel staff and some of the wait staff in the nearby cafes know me.

I've been to Paris in December, January, March, April, May, June, July, and August. Mid-July is my favorite time to go. This year I have other plans in mid-July so June it is, planned around the Fete de La Musique.

I leave in 10 days!!!

We're going for 2 weeks in September - my 9th trip. We do go other places but Paris needs to happen every two years. Fortunately most of our friends love Paris, too, and understand. As for the others,I just use a version of Denisea's "if you have to ask, you clearly haven't been."

We go places other than Paris as well. Just returned from the Amalfi Coast, Tuscany and Rome (all in 2 weeks!) We'll go to Paris in the fall for 3 weeks and 2 weeks in the spring (combined with a week in Barcelona) We are retired and can spend the time now.

I have lost count of the number of trips we have made to Paris. We usually tie it in with a trips to other parts of France. We spent 10 days in Paris in December, but also visited Alsace for a few days.

We are back in September for 10 days in Normandy and Brittany, but will conclude the trip with four days in Paris. How can anyone get tired of Paris?? We look forward to a few good meals, all the culture as well as picking up our food supplies to take home ( herbs, mustard, chocolates, caramels, etc,)

I have just started preliminary plans for a trip for September 2015 to the French Alps and as always a four day conclusion to the trip in Paris.

I've only been 6 times so no one has said that to me but this so reminds me of my Grandmom. She loved telling people she went to Bermuda 13 times. We never asked how come but knew my Grandpop was a travel agent and I just figured they loved it there. They only went to a few other places once or twice but really, why mess with something you love?

My next visit will be this October. No one I know even asks why anymore. It is in my soul and where I feel most at home and most stimulated at the same time, outside of my own home.
