Paris after Christmas

Taking my family to Paris for Christmas (wife, 2 college-age daughters).

We've got Christmas Day outlined, but I was curious about the day after (Boxing day?). Will stores be open (at least some)?

I had reserved this day for them to do their shopping, but if it would be better for them to fit that in on the 23rd or 24th (are stores open Christmas Eve)?

I did search the forum but didn't find a post that specifically talked about Paris on 26 December.

Thanks

I did call Printemps and with my butchered French asked if they were open and I'm pretty sure they understood and said Yes.

Does Paris shut down like London the day after Christmas?

Thanks again for your responses and time.

Boxing Day is not a holiday in Fr. You should find "business as usual". Sales do not start until after the first week of Jan.

December 26 is a completely normal day in France. There may be a few banks closed to make it a long weekend, as is often the case when a holiday falls on a Thursday.

Thanks for the re-assurance.

I don't want to spend a bunch of time "shopping" during our few days there, although I might suggest we visit some of the Christmas Markets.

I'd rather see the sights and save shopping for the end so we don't accumulate too much stuff we have to lug back home.

Thanks again

Boxing Day is solely a British term and holiday. There is no international holiday by that name. The name alone tells you why, if you know what that holiday even is.
