I'm renting my first paris apt next month...so I will just be able to give you a few impressions based on reviewing a ton of apt websites.

The aprtment is cute, but tiny. If you are going in the summer when you can use the balcony...that will be nice. But if you are going in the winter, you might opt for the larger apt w/o balcony as you might inside more and could use the additional room.

-Don't plan on actually cooking anything in a kitchen that tiny. Maybe you could cut up some bread and cheese, but that is about it.

-Good location though and charming views.

Wow! That is rather expensive for such a small apartment. I always rent apartments in Paris, next week I will be in vrbo 103254. A much larger place, with it own private garden, close to Bastille.

Thanks for the advice Cruisinred. The problem I have is that I would like to go in March so the choices have dwindled. I like the idea of the Marais area and would like a bright place. I love the fact that this one has a computer for keeping in touch with family. I do not have a laptop. But your ideas are good. I guess I would not be able to use balcony except for a peek or photo or two. Any good suggestions for me. My husband and I are in our early sixties.

Have you looked at what's available through Holiday Rentals (www.holiday-rentals.com)? It's a rental by owner site, and it has a search function that allows you to specify price and dates, which helps narrow the options down (assuming, of course, that the owners have their calendars up to date).

MargrietVanderBanck: I will check out that site also. Thanks for the link.

I am also renting my first apartment in May with Paris Bestlodge.

The apartments owned by Thierry have computers and there are some in the Marais.

He is very easy to deal with, but since his apartments are so popular, they are usually booked up well in advance. Here's the address if you'd like to have a look.

Luc,

That sofa bed doesn't look big enough for two people! As for the kitchenette in the Paris Rendez-Vous Rivoli apartment, of course a person could cook, with the hot dishes limited to two per meal.

I was on the vacationinparis.com site recently and if you click on "specials" they have some availability in March. Probably some that just weren't booked and others that were and then the rental was cancelled. I have yet to rent with anyone, but other people on fodors have.

It looks very nice to me. Maybe a little small, but clean and well decorated. and nice to have the little terrace.

I recently stayed with a company called www.specialapartments.com which was really great. You might want to check them out too...
