The best street markets, IE: Rue Mouffetard.
Have stayed on Rue Mouffetard and love it but was wondering if there are any
similar or comparable street markets in Paris.

This question has been posed here a number of times. The consensus seems to be that the "best" is which ever is closest to wherever you are. My favorite is at Place Maubert, 5e. I lived around the corner. Put "paris markets" in the serch box above for other threads and other suggestions.

I have used this site many times but not in last 3 years.

Place d'Aligre

The rue Mouffetard is a permanent market street. These exist in various neighborhoods throughout the city. There are also the markets that set up a couple of days a week. There is a big one at the Bastille on Sundays and Thursdays. The Place Maubert market mentioned above is on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The Place Monge has a market Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

There is an organic market Saturdays at the Boulevard des Batignolles and Sundays at Raspail.

Richard Lenoir market on Thus and SDung=days at Plav=ce Bastille and rue Ricjhard Lenoir. We also like Enfant Rouge also in the 4th

Someone seems to ask every couple of months so there are tons of threads about this subject but probably the same people respond so you'd get the same answers.

And it is a wonderful way to experience a bit of life

While that is a sensible attitude for a Paris resident, a tourist can have fun exploring the city by using the local markets as an introduction to different neighborhoods. A couple of years ago I used a trip La Chapelle market as an excuse to visit that neighborhood, which I might not otherwise have explored.

you also have the Montorgueil street, this is a permament street market!

I loved Rue Montorgueil.

A visit to a market each day we are in Paris is usually included in our plan--and we don't have an apartment. I find them absolutely beautiful in what they offer, and how it is arranged--not just dumped on a table but laid out and wonderfully fresh and clean. The guide books all have directories of what street is on what day. And you will find that some vendors are one place on Tuesday and another place on Wednesday. Find the foie gras guy--he's a hoot!! And takes VISA!!
