Paris 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment
We plan on spending Thanksgiving week in Paris this year and are looking for a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom in central Paris, preferably in the Latin Quarter, Louvre or Marais areas. Price within €400/night? This will be for 8 nights, from November 23 to December 1.
I have found a few likely places online but would like to hear of your personal favorites. Thanks in advance for your suggestions 😊 |
Hi geetika,
Sorry, I don't have a personal recommendation for an apartment, but I can recommend an agency -- Guest Apartment Services. I've used them several times, and I'm renting two apartments from them this Nov (see you there??) for my nephew and his girlfriend, and me. They have one apartment that could work for you -- Eglantine (listed at a rate of 329-470). I guess that may bust your budget if they charge the highest rate ... but it may be worth an email to ask. They have some other apartments listed as two bathrooms, but there is only one toilet, and for me, having two toilets is necessary when travelling with others. There are others listed also, but they show a minimum rental period of one month -- but again, it may be worth an email to ask. The Eglantine is in the 5th with views of the back of Notre Dame. Have fun as you plan! s |
Most Apts in Paris are not allowed to be rented for short periods, the one month minimum is the law with few exceptions and it would be illegal for them to rent such a place for a shorter term.

If you're not able to find an apartment, perhaps look at family rooms/connecting rooms at one of the Astotel hotels, like the George or the Lorette. I stayed at the 34B and had a wonderful stay. I DID opt in to the breakfast, which I enjoyed as my days were so packed with sightseeing, that I didn't want to expend a lot of thought on finding a hot breakfast and fresh coffee each day. (I don't know Paris well, either.) One benefit of the Astotel chain is that they also offer drinks and snacks from 2 pm to late in the day, and that hotel guests can take advantage of those breaks at any of their hotels. I never did need to use the "Astotel Tour," but I definitely enjoyed getting a coffee or tea and snack upon my return to the hotel. Also, they refresh the mini bar with free water, orange juice and soda each day, which was nice.
The 34B was incredibly convenient for both walking and the metro, which was a minute walk away. But I understand the Lorette and George are also convenient to the metro. If you are able to find an apartment for a shorter stay and for that budget, please post back. I'm trying to arrange a trip for my extended family, and I expect they'd love an apartment stay. Have fun in Paris! |
swandav, double thanks to you! I saw your post last month and emailed Guest Service Apartments for availability. They have suggested Saffron €470/night) and Corals (€400). I looked at the description again and it isn’t clear if there are two WCs, thanks for pointing it out. Have emailed them again asking for specific details.
ChgoGal, thanks for your suggestions, will definitely check it out. Will post links to a couple of apartments I am looking at and also update when I book. Thanks again! |
Hi again!
Glad you were already on the trail of this agency. However, I think neither of those has two WCs. For Saffron, it says this: 1st: Bathroom with a walk in shower, wash basin, litted mirror, toiletries, hair dryer. 2nd: Bathroom with a walk in shower, wash basin, litted mirror, toiletries, hair dryer. Separate WC It looks like there is one WC, and it is separate from both bathrooms. The Corals says this: Bathrooms The bathroom offers shower cabin, wash basin, lit mirror & WC. Looks like again only one. I hope you find a great place ... and am eager to see what you find! Have fun! s |
Hélas, swandav, I’m afraid you’re right, I need to start again! Will post links to a couple of other places later today, have some stuff to take care of before that.

We used this agency a few times over the years for different apartments in the Marais.

Thanks macdogmom, have emailed them, though a quick initial search shows mostly one bathroom apartments, will look in greater detail tomorrow.
Incidentally, you gave me several good suggestions for our Rome trip last November, though I finally went with something I found on Airbnb. |
Good luck! We stayed at a 2 bedroom/2 bath place called Picasso apts for 4 or 5 years (near Picasso museum) on a quiet street but it seems to have been taken off the rental market during Covid. We always got an apt when we had kids with us, but last year we stayed in a hotel and I did miss the extra space.

Here’s an update on the apartment I booked, 2 bedroom/2 bathroom in the 6ème near St Germain. Rented by Glamparis, a company which has been in the business for quite a while. They had listed a St Lazare apartment on Airbnb and I contacted them directly, when they proposed 3-4 other places. This apartment and location best fitted our requirements.
Price for 7 nights is about €4000, higher than what I was looking at, but I find prices have gone up quite a bit since we were last in Paris in 2022. We used points to book two rooms at the Hilton at CDG for the last night, much more convenient for our flight out the next morning. Thanks to all of you for your suggestions, some of which were very promising but unfortunately weren’t available for our dates. https://glamaparis.com/apt/6210/ |
