Hi all, sorry if some of you have already seen my post a few weeks back about this but I really need help deciding which arrondissement to stay in while in Paris, I am there for about 8-9 days and I have considered staying near Champ Elysses (sorry if I did not spell that right, but it is far away from the Eiffel Tower but is it near The Louvre?), since this has been a lifelong dream of mine, I want to maybe get a view of the Eiffel tower (does not have to be super close). I am looking to stay under $200 but can go above if needed. We are going to be there Dec 1st onwards, I have a 3 year old and my husband and I. Thank you! sorry if this is repetitive.

Perhaps in December the prices will be lower, but I really doubt you will be able to get a hotel room with view of the Eiffel Tower for your budget of $200 for a triple room. (That is around €175 - you really should start thinking in Euros.) Kids count as a person, and you must tell the hotel there are three of you when booking.

Since it is your first time in Paris I would suggest you stay in Arrondissements 1 through 6, and close to the river. Your main problem in December will be finding things to make your three year old happy. The suggestions you got on your other threads about parks and carousels will be difficult in mid Winter, and the days will be very short.

There is no charm in staying on or near the Champs-Elysees, and there is no view of the Eiffel Tower, either.
The Champs-Elysees is about 2.5 km from the Louvre.

But you could take the Metro or Bus to go see the Eiffel Tower anytime you wanted to.

Take a look at your other thread for more reasonable options, including prices.

Google Maps is your friend. I can't provide a link except through Canada, where I live, but you can search for the site operating in your area.
You will be helped by a broader overview of the Paris terrain. Enter a landmark such as Bastille or Place de la Republique. The maps you see are provided with functions for showing hotels, restaurants, and the essential Metro stations. Being near a station is critical so you can easily move around the city. Google will provide the directions and is fairly efficient at showing trains, buses etc. Ease of transportation is more important than the actual arrondisement. As a rough guideline, the further from the centre, the lower the price of the apartment. One other thought: Be prepared for short days; the sun starts going down in late afternoon.

Take a look at Hotel Bosquet. Some rooms have a view of ET and the hotel is well located. We stayed there in April and found it to be affordable and lovely with a great staff. Buffet breakfast is included.

Mercure Tour Eiffel has their "Privilege Room" available Dec 1 -9 at USD1636 for the 8 nights ($205 per). There is also a more expensive suite with a fold-out bed for USD2040 ($255 per).

I've never stayed here but is is part of the Accor hotels and should be well run and comfortable. I can vouch for the neighborhood as I've stayed many times right next door (when it used to be the Hilton Paris - now the Pullman). This is literally two blocks to the Tour Eiffel, 4 blocks to a main bus terminus and 2 blocks to the Bar Hakim metro, Loved the location!

Some rooms at the Muguet have a view of the Tower. While it is "fun", more important is to be in a vibrant part of the city (which the Champs is NOT) with neat little cafes and boulangeries. It is also fun to be in maybe the 7th, and round a corner and suddenly be surprised by a view Le Tour.
