Paris- 1 RER, 2 metro questions

I am leaving for Paris on the 23rd and have a few last minute questions.
first, landing at CDG terminal 2, I know there are small buses to take passengers to the RER but if you wanted to walk is it very far and is there signage you could follow without too much confusion?

I am staying in the 6th on Rue Monsieur le Prince which is quite close to the Luxembourg RER stop.

I was in Paris 1 year ago and just found 2 tickets from a carnet of tickets I used then; are they still good?

Also, going all the way out to Basilica St Denis is one of the last stops on line 13. Does one regular ticket cover it or would I be into an extra fair zone?

Thanks in advance, lynda

The RER station is in Terminal 2 at the intersection of the "bays" ABCD and EF. See the map at http://www.adp.fr. There are signs saying "Paris par train" every ten feet.

Métro tickets do not expire.

A single <i>ticket 't'</i> is valid for the entire M&eacute;tro network, regardless of zone.

We had a very easy time finding the bus to take us to the RER station. It was harder, once there, to find the actual train. Maybe we were jetlagged, but there didn't seem to be directional signs.

If you've got the money, take a cab or shuttle into Paris. It's a pain lugging your bags onto the bus, off the bus, to buy your tickets, to the train, off the train, out of the station, on cobblestones to your hotel. Of course, when we did it (with 3 kids), one of the escalators up from the metro station was broken, so we had to carry our luggage up a steep flight of stairs.

You'll love St. Denis. Also, right next to the metro station is a French equivalent to a Super Target...inexpensive groceries, cosmetics, etc. If you go early enough on your trip, you can stock up while there.

Thank you Robespierre and Missypie,

Good to know those tickets never die!

I did the Roissy bus last year and then the metro and found it quite easy with my luggage. This trip should be even better as I downsized my luggage considerably and I'm doing carryon.

Good to know about the Target like store out by the cathedral, I will check it out. lynda
