Pancake place near Van Gogh in Amsterdam?

I'm figuring out my museum routes for a weekend in Amsterdam and would like to fit in a pancake stop on our way to the Van Gogh on a Saturday morning. Any recommendations?

I guess it depends on where you are starting your morning, but the Pancacke Bakery near the Anne Frank House get raves reviews on this board, although I've never eaten there. You could probably do a search of this forum to find the address.

Now, if you are coming from near the Bloemenmarkt (flower market) on the Singel, I would like to recommend at #494 the pancakehouse "het Singeltje". It's a small restaurant, but they make great pancakes. We've eaten there several times, and will probably go back again. I like the Banana pannekoeken; my husband likes the chocolate. YUM!!

Enjoy your stay in Amsterdam!

I ate at that pancake house and quite disliked my food -- but it's possible I just don't like Dutch pancakes. I didn't eat any more during my stay.

Sorry -- I should have specified I meant the Bakery near the Anne Frank House.

I can't recommend a pancake house in Amsterdam, but depending on when you are going to be at the Van Gogh museum you need to check if you need to buy your ticket in advance because of the special exhibition taking place - it runs from February trhough to June, and entry ot the entire museum us by timed entry ticket only, which you must buy ahead of time - easily done online.
See the museum website for more details.

Oh and I hate sweet pancakes - go for savoury every time. A good Dutch pancake is very nice, but finding a good one can be hard, luckily I have several good pancake houses around where I live :).

Knew about the Van Gogh exhibit, but I thank you. We are starting out at the Marriott right near Leidseplein, so we're just a spit from the museum. I was hoping to eat on the way.

Alternative that I have been considering: We're doing Anne Frank the night before, and perhaps we shall make our Pancake Bakery stop as a dinner!

We liked the Pancake Corner at Leidseplein, sits across from the "lizards". Another place might be "Small Talk Cafe" tho we didn't eat there...

As always, Travelnut, you are "on task"! Thanks. Exactly what I needed.

We've eaten at the Small Talk and can recommend it. It seemed like it was full of music students when we ate there. My wife had pancakes with cheese and I had a wonderful brown bean soup.
