Any information on the running of the bulls festival i.e. cheap accomodations, cheap airfares to Spain from Eastern US would be very helpful.
Thanks,
Brian

Be careful Brian. My son went with a friend and altho I had warned him to stay ahead of the other guy at all times he got gored ("just a little, mom") on the hand. Oh well, maybe you'll take my advice--and visit the Guggenheim in Bilbao instead.

A dear friend of mine went last year, planning well ahead (about this time of year he started the process), or so he thought. Virtually no accommodations were available in or around Pamplona; he couldn't even find outrageously expensive rooms, spending the night in some park where everyone crashes.
Cheap rooms? good luck...
As for airfare, check Spanair....they sometimes run practically-free flights from like Miami or Baltimore or some such...

We were in Pamplona during San Fermin in 1998. Be aware that prices double during that time. However, we loved our hotel. It was a huge old mansion about five miles outside Pamplona called Hotel El Toro. It was about $100 for a double. Phone number is:
948-30-22-11. Fax: 948-30-20-85.

My wife and I are going to San Fermin this summer, and we found a room at Hotel Blanca de Navarra, fax # 34-948-175414. Rooms are normally about $50-60 bucks, and we booked for $160 US, ouch. As for flights, if you can get to Barcelona, a round trip to and from Pamplona is about $120 - $180 US. We are taking the train in and flying out. The websites listed are the only one I've found, too. Maybe we'll see you there, July 8-9, 2000 for us.

Brendan
