Hi. Mallorca was the first packagetour place for tourist from Nothern Europe. In the beginning mid 50's. Mallorca was therefore the first place in europe to be overtouristed. That's why mallorca had a very bad reputation among "serious" tourist in the 80's. Now in the 90's the reputation is getting better. You can find hideaway places pn the island.
But still there is millions and millions of German, scandinavian and british etc etc white and bluecollar workers comming here for 1 or 2 quick week's of sand, sun and booze every year
Have a nice trip. thomas

I personally think that Mallorca is really a paradise for everybody all types. It worthy a visit, but not only for nice weather and transparent clean water in the beaches during high season. Mallorca also offer a lot of cultural tours, very good restaurants and luxury and not luxury hotels. Mallorca is likely a miracle where every person can find the places and the people they looking for or they dreaming about. In Mallorca as many other places everybody welcome!!!

Mallorca is pleasant- but definitely overrun in season.

Not sure who you are (age, interests) or when you plan to go.

Also not sure what you mean by exchange - it's part of Spain - so uses the Euro. If you mean prices - they vary by time of year and level of establishment.

If we want to spend any beach time in Spain (limited interest for us) we do Puerto Banus near Marbella - much more pleasant.
