Palma de Mallorca

We are spending a day off the cruise ship. Do we need a tour? Is the Cathedral the main attraction and how far from ship???

Absolutely no need for a tour.

The ship docks a few steps away from the Cathedral. Besides the Cathedral, the Old Town is beautiful, the harbour, the Royal Palace with museum (Palacio Real de La Almudaina), there are Moorish baths. Very easy to spend a day with sightseeing, just by walking short distances.

PALMA DE MALLORCA- NO TOUR is necessary. The city is so easy to get around & very easy to navigate.

Moorish baths are worth visiting (in my opinion) however, be aware that it is small & will not take you more then 20 minutes to walk thru. The Moorish baths that I visited in Palma is an ancient sight.....NOT a bath that is currently in use.

If I remember correctly the Jewish Quarter was very close to the Moorish Baths & easy to find. They are called "BANOS ARABES" you will see small sign with arrow (Banos Arabes NOT Moorish Baths, as it is in Spanish of course)

There was a small Jewish museum/center showing the history of the Jewish Community in Mallorca. The Palace is lovely (small compared to many other palaces I have see....yet worth a visit)

As it is a very popular destination for Brits for years, everyone speaks English (restaurants, shops, etc.)
The Harbor is beautiful with tons of Yachts.
Beautiful Flowers are everywhere.

The Passeig des Born is a lovely upscale wide passage near the Harbor lines with all upscale stores on each side, center cafes and restaurants. There are occasional musicians, accordian players which is amusing to see. Benches line both side of the Passeig des Born if you want to people watch.
