Palermo, Sicily

Looking for hotel recomendations for first and last nights in Palermo. We will have a car and are looking for reasonable rate, within resonable distance to airport and easy access to see highlights of Palermo.

What is a reasonable rate to you and when will you be needing this hotel?

Does that mean that you want to stay near the airport on the first and last night in Palermo?

If you stay in Palermo, we stayed at the Hotel Ambascatori which is a straight walk to the tarin station and airport. There is also a bus that runs from the train station to the airport at regular intervals. Lovely hotel with an amazing rooftop terrace.

Hotel Joli is well located downtown, and I recommend it. However, I would not drive in Palermo itself, especially not in its core, which is where the hotel is located. I drove out from our rental agency and drove back in, and even after a week in Sicily, the drive back into the city was somewhat nerve-wracking.

I stayed at the Joli, too! Great location. Agree about the driving within the city, too!
