Paleohora accomodations

We will be staying for a night in Paleohora in June, on our 6 day tour of Crete. Can anyone recommend a great hotel for us to stay in? I have not been able to find many ewviews for hotels in this area...Thanks!

I'm also going there in June. Most of the hotel's websites that I have viewed have been for fairly basic accomodations. I don't think "high end" exists there.

This is the one I'm interested in:

They haven't responded to my e-mail yet. I also looked at:

Hi AP6380, I also found this hotel (elman) and emailed them last night for rates, but no response yet. It looks like a really great place to stay and on the beach too...Thanks for the info!

I e-mailed them over a month ago! I assume maybe they open up for/after the Eastern Orthodox Easter?

Love it as I do, Paleochora doesn't have any "great" hotels. The best is probably Glaros Hotel. Rea would be a good second choice.

Paleohora is a wide open beach area. I've never seen the wind not blow the sand around there. Souiga, Sfakia, Matala all offer beaches that are more sheltered. There are no luxury accomodations available at any of these areas. Most rooms will cost 30-40 euros per night and they'll be clean, with bathrooms, etc.
An interesting aside to Crete being busy in July-August. I spoke with a number of people who say that the busy season is now April-May and Sept-Oct. Crete has become a place for hiking, biking etc. We were told that July-August on southern Crete was becoming a slow season??
We'll be on Crete from July10-24th, if anyone wants to get together.

Whilst we have certainly experienced wind on the beach at Paleochora, we have had three pretty top hols there. Sougia's nice too, but tiny, tiny. Matala's a bit overdone. Yet to get to Sfakia.

I think you'll love it.
