Fogon in the 6th looked good although I did not eat there. Many people like Bellota-Bellota. Neither is a budget option.

Perhaps there is a take out option, like a gourmet deli /Tapas Bar?What a picnic that would make au centre de Paris,n'est pas?

I meant to add that we might visit the Cubana Cafe at 47 rue Vavin on our next trip...

It's in a small alley to the left just off the Rue Mouftard as you walk south (downhill). On the corner is a flower shop.

El Cervantes - got it! just that it isn't in Montparnasse at all (you probably meant to say off Mouffetard)... It's listed as this in PagesJaunes. (it's one of the photos).

I believe so...the French is a bit rusty ,though.I'm listening to the Cds,trying to catch up.Porter is definately the verb to carry, but emporter,I'm not sure....

La Boca Chica on rue de Charonne. Only one I've been to in Paris - more trendy than authentic Spanish, but good atmosphere and good food, and all in all a good place to go for a night out.

Thanks so much for all the reccomendations....this forum is sooo great...Now we've the food sorted, how about a nice bottle of wine?

My husband and I normally drink Austrailian Chardonnay and haven't had any luck with past forray's into French wine tasting. We would love to return converts, with a boot full to keep us going, for a week or so...
Any ideas?Thanks for this....
