Calvo2: There is no "Ireland site". All threads are under Europe.
Clicking on Ireland just lets folks search for some threads about Ireland (you get about 60% of Ireland threads that way since that many posters remember to click on a country before posting)

Calvo,
I understand what you are doing by starting another thread with your itinerary.
It looks good. Galway to Kenmare will make for a longish day but it can be done. You can break it up with a stop or two, perhaps stoppping in Killarney . You can also break it up by taking the Killimer/Tarbert Ferry, www.shannonferries.com.
You could also take a day from Dublin and a day from Kenmare and add in Dingle. That would be a good stopping point in between.
Let us know when you are ready for day trip suggestions.

I was wrong (not for the first time, and not for the last).
In the parallel thread I predicted that Bit would be recommending Kilkenny.
Dingle is a good place to go, but I'm not sure it is a good idea to take a day off Dublin: Calvo will be driving 200 miles to get there, and 150 more to get from there to Ennis, and to get only one full day in Dublin for that much driving seems like bad value.

Sorry Padraig to disappoint you. I love Kilkenny but was trying to break up the Galway to Kenmare stretch, as they will have a long stretch of driving between Dublin and Ennis at the end of the trip, as well. You are quite correct in that losing a day in Dublin wouldn't be a good idea. Perhaps losing a Galway day might be better or just pushing through to Kenmare.
