packing tips
 

Anyone have any advice for the best travel pack to bring? Is a messenger bag a wise idea? Are undercover waist packs really necessary? What about travel wallets?<BR><BR>I'll be in the west of Ireland for a week and travelling by car.<BR><BR>Thanks!

I love the Eagle Creek expandable packs on wheels; some are convertible to backpacks as well. I have never worn an undercover waist pack in England, Scotland, France, Sweden, Denmark, or Italy. I just wear my (smallish) purse over my shoulder and hold onto it in crowded areas, and so far, so good. And I don't use a special travel wallet either. <BR><BR>Your mileage may vary!

My favorite tip for packing - <BR> take along a duffel bag that can be laid flat in your suitcase. Then at the end of the trip - put all your dirty clothes and shoes in the duffel, leaving more room in your big case for souveniers. <BR><BR>2nd tip - travel space bags. - I won't travel without them now. saves a lot of space, and keeps everything dry.<BR><BR>-Debbie

LL Bean sells them. Think zip lock for clothes.

You can get them a lot cheaper than LL BEAN. <BR> <BR>I bought mine at Walgreens and also on Home Shopping Network (HSN.COM) . <BR> <BR>They are like Big ziplocs, but with a special vent at the bottom. put in your stuff, then roll & squeeze to remove all the air. Presto chango - lots more room in your suitcase. <BR>They are great , especilly to take along sweaters ( or even a pillow :)<BR><BR>Debbie

Well, I order a lot of clothing from LL Beans, so the $15 for the packing bags aren't a problem. I don't pay for shipping either so it saves me the time from running out and buying them. Plus LL Bean guarntees all their items.

It really doesn't matter where you get them. The 1st batch I bought was the week of my trip to Ireland, and I happened across them in Walgreens. <BR>The second batch I bought from TV. <BR><BR>Just be sure to shop around for the best pricing. ( you can also search the web for travel space bags, and you will find lots of places that sell them. )
