packing linen clothes
Any tips, suggestions on packing linen clothing so it won't wrinkle?

Linen is tough but I always roll it. Never is wrinkle free but wrinkles alot less.

Ahhhhhhh linen . . . my favorite summer travel fabric. I take my linen clothes on every tip. Depending on the quality of the linen the fabric will wrinkle, more or less. To pack my linen clothes I always start with them at the bottom of my suitcase and leave the ends hanging out. I then pack all my other clothes on top of them and then fold over the ends of the linen clothes on the top. I've found this method avoids most wrinkles. As for the other wrinkles, I hang the clothes up and usually with the humidity the wrinkles fall right out.

Generally pack similarly to Rita, but in addition try to put each garment in a plastic bag (cleaners or store)and somehow it seems to help prevent wrinkles. Of course, pants in particular start creasing the minute you sit down, but I too love linens and cottons for spring/summer.

j

What about carrying it on and having it hung up - would that be better or worse than packing it?

Good luck being able to hang it up on the airline, unless you're flying first class. Even if they allow coach passengers to hang bags, there is very little space so it fills up. Take above poster advice about the cleaner bags... the clothes glide on the plastic and don't wrinkle nearly as much. Of course there's always the ironing routine when you get to the hotel. Most have irons.

My advice to you is not to bring linen on your vacation.
It is too difficult to pack without getting wrinkled.
I never bringf linen on vacation.
Just my opinion!!!

Downey Wrinkle releaser available in the detergent/softner section of stores.
Just put some into a spritz bottle and take it with you :)
Spray the garment and give a firm tug.
Voila, no more winkles.
Febreeze works wonders for getting rid of smells.
I agree with freecia. That wrinkle releaser works pretty good. I've also read some travel info that suggests things like broomstick skirts that are supposed to look wrinkled. Never tried them personally, though. I like the least amount of carry-on luggage. It's too tough to find room in the overhead compartments!
