Packing for Italy/Greece May 10..ditch the long pants?
Have been watching the temps in Italy and Greece...do you think it's safe to eliminate the long pants and jeans? Would love to travel lighter with just capris, skirts and long shorts...what do you think?
May 10 Italy...May 20-25 Greece. |
No way - we're off to italy on may 19th (lake garda, so it's northern so might be a bit cooler) and there's no way i would venture out in the evenings in my shorts - have a look at some of the webcams for where you are going and see how sunny / cold it looks in the evening.

Hi Ar,
>Would love to travel lighter with just capris, skirts and long shorts.... Excellent idea. You could substitute one pair of slacks for a pair of capris. Enjoy your visit. ((I)) |
You may not care - but be aware that wearing shorts in May (or indeed June) will certainly identify yo as a tourist. Italians do wear shorts, but only in the very hight of summer, and certainly would change into something a little more formal for evening "passigata" or dining.

Wasn't planning on the shorts in Italy..perhaps for Greece...

In May, evenings will still be chilly. I would pack one pair of versatile, comfortable (modal, or something like it...) long pants. And a light sweater or jacket for evenings.
