I just purchased 2 travel cards on-loine from London tube website www.tickets-on-line.com. Used cc printed page and was e-mailed also. Tickets will be mailed 30 days prior to our trip.

I would never buy a paper Travelcard, nor recommend one to anyone else. Mainly because they don't provide Oyster Fares for extensions.

You can even buy (at a slight premium) an Oyster online here:

sherm99: tickets-on-line is definitely not the "London tube website". It is a US-based ticket broker for all sorts of events/games. How much did you pay?? Likely more than the same thing would cost in London.

oyster card - any day. u just swipe it while entering the platform & load it up (either through the loading machine or at the counter) when the balance dips. just be careful to zip it on ur way out of the platform too - if not the fare calculated is the max.
i think it comes cheaper, too.
i love travelling in london underground (though too many lines) - just get urself an underground map (available free in the tube stations) & in a day or two, u ll get the hang of it.
and i ve still treasured my oyster card - i ve been told that i can use the same card the next time i m around, just need to fill up the balance.
cant wait to go back

I just wanted to clarify something. The caps that have been mentioned, that means once you have traveled enough to have paid that amount of money then you don't pay anything more for that day?
