Oxygen supplies in Paris
 

Would anyone know who I contact to find oxygen equipment in Paris? My sister is an oxygen patient, but we never let that stop our travel. Now we are ready to try Paris together, but we need a supply of oxygen. Where?!!!! do we find it. There has to be COPD patients in Paris with all the smoking Europeans do.

I do not know about companies that supply O2 in Paris but I stumbled onto this thread about "Traveling with Oxygen" and they recommend the use of an "Inogen Portable Oxygen Concentrator". Hope it helps.

BTW-you should check with the airline you're going with about the use of the Portable Oxygen Concentrator. It appears some allow them and others don't. From a thread at flyertalk.com:

Portable Oxygen Concentrators
Customers needing medical oxygen can travel on American Airlines, American Eagle and AmericanConnection using approved portable oxygen concentrator (POC) during all phases of flight, provided the conditions listed below (under "Travel Requirements and Restrictions") are met.

Approved Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POCs)
Only the following POCs are allowed for use onboard our aircraft:

* Inogen One
* AirSep Lifestyle displaying an RTCA sticker
* AirSep FreeStyle

I believe you'll find that all airlines allow oxygen concentrators. The rules that govern their use are government mandated. Policies specific to oxygen bottles themselves may vary slightly from airline to airline.

In either event, call your airline in advance in reference to any oxygen use requirement such that there is a complete understanding of any procedural requirements.

I would guess that pharmacies supply retail oxygen. There are pharmacies all over Paris.

Pharmacies would be a good option; they carry quite a lot of medical equipment, including wheelchairs for rental.

Were you able to find a concentrator in Paris? I am also looking to rent a concentrator in Paris. I am looking for a vendor or oxygen supplier who can provide this service for me.

I have a Respironic EverGo to use during the flight, but I would also like a concentrator unit delivered to my hotel as a backup.

Does anyone have any expereince with Oxygen rental in Paris?

I've been directed to a few website but I can not read French.

Hi najedjaxx, my sister decided not to go this time...so I quit looking. Thanks to everyone for the good info. I am still hoping to talk her into Paris next year. I gave her a great book on the Cordon Bleu and she said now she wanted to see Paris

I found this company called Linde Group which supplies Oxygen through their program called OXYTRAVEL. It is an international company and their website says it will take care of all medical oxygen needs through a patient's travel journey. I am wondering if anyone used their services before?

I sent an inquiry but have not heard back.

I'm also wondering about the cost. It sounds too good to be true to not have to arrange ourselves because I have no idea where to start! No less thing to worry about...
