And if you are a long time traveler one would suppose that you could simply keep track of when you are allowed to be where. Not so complicated if you are paying attention. Immigration officers (this is nothing to do with CUSTOMS - which is luggage) do have some freedom in dealing with people but generally do not encourage illegal stays.
